Dr. Rick Workman, a dentist in Effingham, Illinois, started Heartland Dental in 1997 as a model for dentists to support one another. It's now a dental support organization behind more than 1,900 supported practices and 3,100-plus supported doctors across 39 states, and those doctors aren't Heartland employees, as the company notes. Heartland's side is business support, mentorship, and training, including a Super GP pathway for general dentists who want to do endo, surgical implants, ortho, and aesthetics themselves, and Heartland Dental University's 1,000-plus hours of courses.
Heartland Dental supported offices hire general dentists, specialists, hygienists, dental assistants, and office and business professionals, with a national support team handling the business side behind them.
